New PC builder seeking parts advice

I am looking to build a PC. I have the know-how to put the system together, but I don't have a lot of experience choosing components. Would anyone be willing to take a look at my parts list and see if everything is compatible and that there isn't a better option for a comparable price?

Notes: I already have the optical drive and hard drive from the machine I'm replacing (they are the ones on the list), and my power requirements must stay below 400W. Thanks for the advice!

Your video card according to newegg says it needs a minimum of 750W PSU. However, the R9 280x (see link below) only needs a 500W PSU minimum, although it costs around $220. You could also look at a 270/270x. Other than that, looks good!

Don't that one gen old CPU(soon going to be two) get the new Haswell, Haswell Refresh one's or wait till Broadwell comes out.

And never trust those cheap PSU that come with the case. I repeat don't use them

Well, rats, I thought I checked that power requirement! Thanks for catching it. I will have to check out the other GPU you mentioned.

So, the power supply is not the place to cut corners to try to save a little money I guess. I'll look at the CPU you mentioned, and hopefully it'll be within the same kind of price range. Thanks for the tips.
