So just built my first pc and for some reason my computer cannot find my gtx 970 graphics card. it cant be found on my pci slot in bios (says spot is empty), cant be found under display adapters, or anywhere. its plugged into the right pci slot and has power to it. I have tried taking out the card uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling it all multiple times and putting it into different slots. tried manually installing drivers from nvidia and it says "this graphics card driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". please if anyone can help me i would appreciate it!

windows 10
7170a gaming m5 motherboard
intel i7-6700k
16gb ram

Not to my knowledge at this time. I would say if you have another GPU or Motherboard, swap them out to see if you can eliminate the issue. The issue is more than likely the motherboard. I would contact the manufacturer of the motherboard and get their opinion maybe they can suggest something you havent tried. Then again it might be the GPU since you tried in mulitple slots. Sorry if Im not much help I would contact the manufacturer.

as i said in the original post i tried all the other slots and its an 8 pin and has power and starts up fine, lights on fans spin.

is there any way i can tell if the motherboard or gpu is defective, cause they were both brand new and i dont want to buy a new one just to have the same problem..
