New PC Driver Issues

Just built a new PC and the drivers for my GPU, which is Nvidia based, won't update through their Geforce Experience service. It'll download the update and then fail right at the end, prompting me to manually install it from their site. I find my card, GTX 980, and I manually download my driver to my downloads folder. Once that's done, which by the way, hangs at 99% for 5 minutes or longer, I try opening the file but it errors, so I go through device manager instead and scan for GPU driver updates and it states its up to date.

But I can't access Shadowplay, everything is greyed out, I wanted to check what my FPS in game was, as I bought the card for recording, and refuse to use FRAPS if my GPU comes with the ability to do what FRAPS does.

As well, when going through Windows Update, I'm given 2 updates, a main one and an optional one. The main one is for WIndows NET services but that fails to update as well, and the optional is for Nvidia but it's an old update, I looked it up, anyways it fails too.

This is what I was worried about when deciding to move to PC 🙁
