Sorry if this is the wrong message board. Unable to find one about desktops in general.

My friend is selling his Macbook air and looking to build a gaming pc. He has a budget of $600. I have built 3 pc's in the last 5 or 6 years, but I always like to get second opinions from others before I get stuff, especially when I am building it for someone else.

Here is the build list.

CPU:AMD FX-6300 six core cpu 3.5 ghz $120 includes heat sync pre pasted

PSU: Corsair 500watt PSU Modular $54.99

Case: Corsair Obsidian case mid tower microatx. This one is not able to be changed. I am selling him this case for $50 bucks

Optical Drive: Just some basic sata dvd burner

HDD: My friend already has a 500 GB external that he plans on gutting to use the internal drive

OS: I have an extra copy of Windows 8.1 from my work for him to use.

What does everyone think of this build list.

I would drop the SSD. It does nothing for FPS. This would be my pick.

Has to be a micro ATX board due to the case OP is selling friend.

Hands down 😛 You go ahead mate.

Switch out the board for the one I chose in my build and remove the case from IAMEXTREME's build and run with that. That should sit close on the necessary budget. I meant to say that earlier, but was in a bit of a rush.
