Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting a new pc, I would love some tips about different parts and what not, should I get faster than 1600mhz ram, i7 / i5 (for sli if it matters) these are the parts I'm considering:

ASUS GEFORCE GTX 780 OC 3GB PCI-E DVI/HDMI/DP
ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO Z87 S-1150
CORSAIR 16GB DDR3 VENGEANCE PC3-17066 2133MHZ CL11 (4X4GB) RED
CORSAIR AX 1200I DIGITAL ATX MODULAR PSU 1200W
CORSAIR CARBIDE AIR 540 CUBE HIGH AIRFLOW ATX BLACK
INTEL CORE I7 4770K 3.5GHZ 8MB S-1150
SAMSUNG 840 PRO SERIES 256GB SSD SATA/600 MLC

This build looks pretty good. For the most part, having faster than 1600mhz RAM is pretty much about bragging rights rather than any actual help in games. it can help with servers and stuff but for games its nothing really.

I don't know the most up-to-date prices for these parts (im in the UK and i'm mostly clued up about the lower spec end of the market), but i would say if you can get a 770 SLI and the latest greatest i5 then do so - i7s are really for the highest end PCs and two 770s in sli will beat all single gpu cards hands down:

That builds looks amazing but like Rugnir_Viking said you only really need 1600mhz ram and a i5 4670K will be more than enough for most games and should handle sli 780s fine. Of course if you want a i7 and super fast ram and money isn't an issue then go for it and enjoy your beast of a computer.
