I'm building a new computer with the following specs:

i7 6700k
Corsair H50
GTX 1070 (don't have yet)
ASRock Z170 Pro4
4x4 DDR4 2400 MHz Avexir Core Series RAM
NZXT Phantom 240
Corsair CX600 80+ Bronze
2TB 7200RPM HDD
240GB PCIE Gen3 x4 m.2 SSD (don't have yet)
Windows 10 (don't have yet)

Today I decided to try to put my GPUs (R9 270x Crossfire) and boot hard drive (1TB HDD) from my old PC into my new PC so I could use it until my new parts came in. My plan was to get everything installed, (which everything powered on) and reinstall windows for the new PC. When I finished building the PC, I plugged my DVI cable into my GPU, and plugged in my mouse and keyboard. When I powered my PC on, I got no display nor signal from my mouse and keyboard (my mouse and keyboard have LEDs). I tried putting my mouse and keyboard into every combination of USB ports, and I put my DVI into every DVI port (even the one built into my mobo).
I couldn't get anything to work. (btw, my front USB ports let me charge my phone from them, so I don't think there's something wrong with my USB ports.) So I just put everything back into my old PC so I could ask for help on here. Hopefully I can find an answer.

Solution
Try leaving single RAM installed, graphics card removed. Start the board and see if any signal on the monitor (connected to the board). Test each RAM slot.

Still nothing. I tried each RAM stick in each different slot and I still got no signal from the monitor. I gave my monitor plenty of time to receive a signal (about 2 minutes) and I didn't get anything. My RAM was working because since it's Avexir RAM, it lights up when it's on. What next, my motherboard master? (actually sounds kind of cool to be a motherboard master)

Being the derp I am, I must have unplugged the 8pin connector at one point. I connected it and tried to get a boot. The monitor went from no signal to a black screen, so I guess that's progress. It's getting late, so I'll try your 1 RAM stick method tomorrow. Also, I don't have an HDD in the system right now, can I still get a motherboard message without it?

Thanks for your continued help!

At last! I booted my computer with one stick of memory installed an I got a message asking for a boot device. My keyboard and mouse lit up, and I did a celebratory dance. I did not get mouse, keyboard, or a display with all 4 sticks installed, so I'm guessing I'll have to do a BIOS update or something. I'll install Windows hopefully Saturday, and I'll tell you how things go from there.

Thanks for your help!

I can get a boot with the RAM in the slot all the way to the right and no GPUs. RAM slots are working, I cannot get a boot with RAM in any other slots though. Should a simple BIOS update fix this?
