New PC No Video Output

Hi,

UPDATE::: Contacted retailer about this problem so for anyone else that this applies to, the bios is the number one source for a lack of video when using a 2 series Ryzen CPU. I managed to get mine sent back to the retailer and they're updating the BIOS and sending it back within 5 days free of charge. Have to say my lack of attention to detail has been let of lightly here.

tl;dr pc is starting, no sound but that might be down to badly plugged in speaker pins, fans work, lights work on MB and GPU but hdmi and DVI do not work. (No video)

I too like some others here have been having problems with a new pc build. I've gone through and read a bunch of questions asked on various websites along with all their answers but haven't found anything that helps my situation.

The build:
Ryzen 5 2600
Asus B350 Prime Plus
CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 3000 MHz
Palit GeForce GTX 1060 JetStream 6GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
Corsair CX Series CX450M 450W 80 Plus Bronze Certified Modular ATX PSU
And some misc other things like spare fans, SSD and such

Some of the things I've tried are; moving around RAM even though it was in the right slot, booted without memory plugged in, checked power cable connections, even went as far as to unscrew the CPU cooler and checked the pins on the Ryzen. No problems to be found.

This has led me to believe it could be one of two things, the motherboard isn't properly mounted and is short circuiting which I'm testing now but I'm fairly sure isn't the problem. (Wouldn't this cause the system to turn off anyway?)

Or the bios is outdated and I should use a previous version of a compatible CPU to upgrade the BIOS. (Would this really stop the video from working?)

Thanks in advance to anyone taking the time to read this and give me a hand.

Solution
If you had wrong BIOS version for your 2600 indeed you would get no video. Check the motherboard box if it has any stickers claiming compatibility with Ryzen Gen 2. If there are none, wrong BIOS is your top suspect on the list.
Any short circuit on motherboard would most likely cause the system to turn off immediately (like in 1-2 seconds from start).
Starting without RAM will not give you video output.
Just to make sure, you do connect monitor to GPU and not to motherboard, right?

Yep, also read somewhere that the board doesn't support a video output, only the gpu.

The bios being the wrong version does seem like the main problem if it does indeed mean no video would appear. I'm getting a kit sent to me by AMD, hopefully Ill remember how to read and that should be sorted. Thanks for the reassurance.
