New PC not sending signal to monitor - Probably a noob mistake?

Last night I finally got the last part for my first custom PC and I was very excited to put it together today and finally be using an updated system. As soon as I got home this afternoon, I started putting the PC together using a guide I found on YouTube. When it came time to mount the motherboard to the case, I realized that I hadn't received any screws or standoffs with the case. I was a little upset and called the manufacturer of the case and basically got a big run-around that was wasting time that I could be spending figuring out how to still mount the motherboard. In my haste and impatience to get this computer put together, I just used two screws I found lying around that fit the holes on the case to hold the motherboard to the case and ordered some standoffs and screws that I would use to finalize the PC at a later time. So I went on with putting the computer together and when it was done I tried hooking it up to a monitor to see how good my handy work was and I got nothing but "no signal found" on the screen. For the past 4-5 hours I've done nothing but search the internet for a possible solution and have found nothing that has worked.

Sorry to write an entire book about this, but I'm just very frustrated and want to figure this out without contacting another support line or going to an actual computer technician. I will mention that this is the first computer I've ever put together and here's all of the parts I'm using:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-HD3 FM2+
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB
HDD: WD Blue Desktop Hard Drive 1TB
GFX: Gigabyte GTX 960 Mini ITX
Power Supply: EVGA 600B 80PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V/EPS12V Active PFC 600W
CPU: AMD Athlon Multi Core Processor AD760KWOHLBOX

When I press the power button on the computer the power LED light comes on and all of the fans, including the fan on the CPU and GFX, kick on. I just get no signal on the monitor. I've followed every step on this: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems , resetting the CMOS, and taking out the battery and letting it set for a bit and none of these have worked.

Here's what I'm thinking. Either I have something incredibly obvious plugged in the wrong place (I mean it all looks fine to me and looks good according to every guide I've seen online) or putting those screws into the motherboard without the standoffs messed something up. Either than that I'm clueless. I'm open to any suggestion before I start sending parts back or seeking help from any of the local computer technicians. Thanks in advance!

Solution
Can you try removing the gpu from your motherboard. Instead use the VGA or DVI located on the motherboard and connect that to your monitor. This will let me know if it's a gpu problem or something else.

Also all of your power connectors are in properly right? Any pictures?

Well I feel kind of dumb. I asked a tech savoy friend about it and he mentioned that I should have plugged the monitor into the graphics card instead of the motherboard like I was doing. I would have tried this, but the graphics card doesn't have an input for a regular VGA cable. So I went and tried a TV with and HDMI connector and everything booted up just fine. This was truly just a noob mistake.

Btw thanks brik94 for the reply. I really appreciate the quick reply and your help probably would have lead me to the same solution.

Haha but it's a great learning experience we all make mistakes!

My 1st computer build my computer would shut down after 5 seconds of booting up. I was freaking out. Turns out I never installed the CPU Fan/Heatsink so the CPU was just overheating. I also felt extremely dumb but learned something new.

Glad everything is going ok for you! Happy gaming.
