It has happened 3 times within the past four days. My computer will go to black screen and keyboard and mouse become unresponsive. I can still hear stuff like my game, netflix, and skype. I can even talk in skype. But because I cant see the screen or use the keyboard I have to manually power it off and on.

I've been trying to get help for weeks but no one even attempts to help. So far I feel like I wasted $600 of my parents money.

What I know so far:____________________________________________________________
+ If I unpluge and repluge my headset I can no longer talk and hear.
+ Double checked that all hardware is plugged in.
+ I've monitored temperatures and nothing is over heating
+ I can't find anything in event viewer at the time of this happening
+ I've tryed updating drivers for my asus Mobo, amd GPU, and windows 7
+ I've done virus and adwear scans
+ Cleaned my registry

This is extremely had to just look up. HELP PLEASE any troubleshooting or diagnostic advise would useful.

this sounds like a bios issue to me, i suggest updating your bios and reseting it to defaults. (after check your boot order.)
your bios might have an option for peripheries on boot, make sure this is on FULL not PARTIAL.

about how long does it take for this to happen? and system specs?

+ I started re-installing windows 7 right before I your post so I will try to re-update my bios next.
+ Would trying previous bios version be worth a try, if its still bad.
+ I will be using my computer and next thing I know screen goes black and I cant use my mouse to pause anything or use the keyboard to [control alt delete].

remember to update windows aswell. you should have like 174 updates. get the latest graphics drivers obviously. if this issue persist with the latest bios update, latest graphics driver, and latest windows updates then the issue might be the card if it isnt overheating.

it really really sounds like overheating, but you said it isnt that, so it must be the connection with your card and your mobo, or your card and your monitor. if all the software if doing it's job, then recheck recheck recheck your mobo connection and the vid cables. if nothing above doesnt fix it, and it isnt an overheat issue then it has to be the vid card.

i norally dont say RMA, but if you have tried EVERYTHING else, you might have to RMA it.

Would the graphics card stop my other peripherals from working as well. My mouse and keyboard lock up as well.
