New pc only boots with one ram stick

Just build this PC, and it turns out I can only boot up with 1 ram inserted. Both rams work individually, just not together. They however only work in the ram slot closest to the CPU. When both rams are inserted, the dram and CPU LEDs are flashing.


I have done the following:
Booted into bios and manually set the rams to ddr4 2133
Booted into bios and enabled XMP
Flashed the mobo to new newest bios version

Try loosening a bit the CPU cooler. If still no go, try removing the CPU and checking the socket for bent pins.

Just took off the CPU, and there is a bent pin...

Is this something I can fix by hand?

Yes. A magnifying glass would also help. Try using a card, a thin screwdriver, or whatever you consider that can help for straightening the pin.

Ok... I'll try to straighten it out. It is, however, not one of those pins that point straight up in the air, so I think it'll be quite tough
