Hello there, i hope im at the correct forum for these type of staff.

My current PC is near its death, and since its old, and i would very likely need to change the motherboard, i would like to upgrade at the same time.

Here is the catch though, i always had AMD (since they came out)! I decided to upgrade with a DDR4 system, (i have DDR3 now) and i'm kinda in big depths when it comes to what i wanna do now, cause i would be likely switching to INTEL.

I went to amazon and found some parts which i think would be ideal for me , since im a Gamer, (MMORPG mostly but still playing some csgo, LoL, pubg here and there).

Here is what i found that are to my liking:

Corsair Graphite Series 760T V2 = 165€/194$
Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero Gaming Mainboard = 209€/246$
Intel Core i7–7700 K 4,2 GHz = 289€/340$
Corsair Hydro H100i V2 = 115€/135$
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz = 84€/99$

I'm keeping my GPU: AMD R9 380 Gaming 4G for the time being.
Also, i would buy 1x Memory stick atm, and buy the 2nd asap.

So, what i would like to know is, if you, being more experienced than i am, have any other recommendations, anything else to add or whatever you think you might want to say.

Lastly, 2 questions:

1) Should i change my 3year SSD and , 6 year HDD too?
2) What kind of PSU (brand and power) would i need for a system like this??

Thank you very much for your time! Your help is greatly appreciated.

~ Gregory.

The 7700k is getting dated, the current top of the line i7 is the 8700k. I would recommend getting a 2x4GB RAM kit rather than a single dimm. Most motherboards will have 4 ram slots for expansion later so don't be afraid to populate them out. 3 year old ssd isn't bad but a 6 year old hard drive is pushing it in terms of usable life left.

Where are you located and what budget?

You are overpaying for a case, mobo, and water cooler, and are a cpu generation behind. Get two matched ram sticks now, not one now and one later (No guarantee they’ll work).

I know, but the difference of when ill buy the system (end of the month (~10days) ) and the 2nd stick (~14th of next month) is really close, so i would be able to have 16gb with a potential of 32 further down the line.!

Will it be bad to stay with 1 for about 13-14 days?

Im in Greece, and those are prices from the amazon.de

my budget is ~ 1000 euros . (i have gathered 700 and i intend to use another 300 from my paycheck now).

The i7 7700k as stated before is dated...and it runs really hot as well. A new i5 would be a better choice than the 7700k if Intel is what you want.

The 3 year old SSD is likely to be ok...the 6 year old HD is probably end of life.

Any name brand 750w power supply should be fine...EVGA, Corsair, etc

So wait, you mean that for example, an i5 8600k is better than an i7 7700k?? ok intel has me a little confused if im honest...

Why then the i7 costs more? oO
Also the i7 8700 is like $40 more.. should i aim for that then?

The 8600k has six real cores and no hyperthreading. The 7700k has four hyperthreaded cores. In gaming workloads, software tends to prefer the 6 real cores over 8 HT ones.

The 8700 has 6 real and 6 HTs. Pure gaming (no streaming, transcoding, etc) the 8600k is, for now, about the best there is.
