1. I just built a new pc and the PSU: Corsair - CXM (2015) 450 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply, didn't work. Luckily I had another one that is working fine, but I'm still curious whether I got a good PSU for my cousin's PC. PC Part Picker: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/AvidGorilla2350/saved/#view=ND7jyc
Is the PSU good?

2. I was using a 1000 watt PSU with a similar machine and plugging in a samsung blueray dvd player was too much for it to handle. Why is that?

3. Any good budget gaming monitors I should get?

4. Any good budget gaming chairs I should get?

The first two are the only important questions so i don't need an answer on the last two.

Solution
That (550W) PSU should be more than good enough for that configuration let alone 1000W. That Bluray machine must have been bad and making a short somewhere. They need less power than your average HDD.
