Hi, thank you for the people that will take the time to help me.

To make it short:
My whole new pc with a 4080 Super GPU keeps having 2 problems :

1) 1/3 boots or standby mode exits cause the PC to hardly lag and the only solution i've found is to restart until i get a good boot

2) Randomly (and when i touch the gpu) the screen goes black the fans go full speed and the PC still works if i use the motherboard displayport (probably on the CPU integrated graphics)

Solutions tried :
  • Updating BIOS
  • Checking (twice) GPU mounting and socket (it seams OK so far)
  • Updating drivers
  • Checking for overheating (none whatsoever)

Specs
MBD: MSI X670E Gaming Plus
CPU: AMD RYZEN 7800X3D
GPU: Gigabyte 4080 Super Windforce OC V2
PSU: MSI A850GL

At the moment i'm typing this post i've had the black screen problem (randomly) and the GPU didn't turn on when i restarted the computer so i've had to change displayport for MOBO's one.
It's been three months and I cannot stand it anymore x)
I just sent a message to the seller to see if I can get a warranty to work.

Do you think it is the GPU? Do you have any solution or have you experienced something similar?

Thanks in advance <3

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

updating BIOS
What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard?

checking for overheating (none whatsoever)
How are you cooling your processor?

You shouldn't be touching the GPU(let alone any other part in the system that might alter a connection) while the system is running.

Have you made sure that the power connectors for the GPU are fully seated?

What ram are you working with on your platform? Were anything recycled from an older system, perhaps the OS drive(meaning you left the OS on the drive intact)?

Firstly, thank you very much for answering my message :)

I run the latest bios update : AMI BIOS 7E16v19 2025-01-16

My processor is air cooled i've looked at the max TDP before picking the fan (and made sure it could dissipate more than what the CPU heats)

Yes I know it was only for experimental purposes because the crashes occured when i just slightly pressed the (plastic) glass of my case last week. Which experiment made me RE-check the GPU socket etc.

I'll check the power connectors on the PSU cause i've only checked the GPU end for now.

It's my 1st PC so everything is brand new and the ram is the : Crucial Pro Overclocking Edition 32Go (2x16Go) DDR5 6000MHz.

Sorry for the delay, I was sleeping :)
