Hello everyone

I just built this new gaming PC a couple of days ago , installed windows 11 pro ,and the latest drivers available .
However during mid game (about 30-40 minutes ) into the game , the computer freezes and doesn't respond , I have to restart it and the same happens again and again .
CPU temp in idle is about 38-40 C
GPU temp in idle is around 35 C , and fans set to auto

The specs are :
MB : Asus Rog Strix Z690 E
CPU :Intel 12 gen i7 12700k
CPU cooler : cooler master 610P (With LGA 1700 mounting brackets )
GPU: EVGA RTX 3070 ti FTW (Mounted vertically using ASUS Riser cable )
PSU:EVGA superNOVA 1000 watts
SSD: Corsair Force Series MP600 2TB Gen4 PCIe X4 NVMe M.2
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 5200
case is well ventilated and has 7 fans decided between intake and exhaust

P.S I didn't change any bios settings at all , the issue happens with two different games (playing at 2k res)

Please help

Have the latest bios?

Version 1403 from 2022/04/01

So XMP isn't enabled? Try to enable and see if it helps.

Looking at the ram first since DDR5 is pretty new and might have starter issues, why i would like to see the latest bios on there as well.

I just updated the bios and enabled XMP , the problem still persists .
Now mid game the screen goes black and the computer restarts !!!
I tried changing the GPU driver from EVGA to the one from Nvidia but didn't solve the issue

Apparently the cause was I installed the card in the PCI gen 5 slot , I put it in the gen 3 slot and the problem was solved , I'll remount it using the riser cable instead of mounting it directly to the MB for better ventilation .

thanks for the help and interest
