New PC randomly freezes

Hey guys, I decided to replace my laptop with a desktop last week. Everything is running smoothly except every few minutes/hours my PC will freeze. I can't move my mouse, my keyboard won't work, and my screen just shows the last thing it was on and sits there. I've scoured the web for a solution and haven't found anything. I defragged my HDD, downloaded a quick fix from Microsoft reinstalled my OS, I've tried everything I can think of.

My Specs:

8gb RAM (2x 4gb Gskill Ripjaws)

128gb ADATA SSD (main drive)

1tb seagate HDD (backup)

2gb PowerColor r9 270 GPU

MSI 970A-G43 motherboard

Lepa MX-F1 600W power supply

Any input is appreciated. It seems to freeze no matter what I'm doing, even when there isn't really any stress on the computer at all. When I restart it doesn't even say there was a problem or Windows didn't shut down correctly, just boots up normally. Nothing in my logs either. Please help!

Im sorry, ur issue can be caused by any part of ur pc.
Most ppl just live with it since its so hard to figure out wats wrong.
But if u try. Go with the following priority
1.Ram
2.GPU
3.SSD
4.hDD.

Test your memory with memtest86+ and check that your cpu is not overheating. Also check if bad/outdated/corrupted drivers are causing this. If windows doesnt detect a problem or does not saythat the PC was shut down improperly, try scanning for a virus. If this continues to happen after you check everything here, it could mean a more serious issue.

You may have not downloaded any viruses, but try running a virus scan. You can download AVG trial at free.avg.com. If this continues to happen, try doing a system backup. Did this happen right when you got the computer? If not, then go with a system backup.

I've been looking around on the web a bit more and apparently this motherboard is a bit notorious for having issues with the FX8350. It doesn't have a heat sink over the VRM and it bleeds heat into the CPU. I'm wondering if I should just get another motherboard or just a heat sink to put over the VRM? I've tried everything else in this thread already. What do you guys think?

This is the motherboard I'm looking at. Will it work with my setup and do you think it would stay cool?

It would most likely stay cool.

I have no heat problems and i use an fx-8320.

my motherboard: SABERTOOTH 990FX/GEN3 2.0

But that is a good motherboard.

I was looking at that board as well but unfortunately I'm on a budget. Asus boards are generally good boards, right? This is the first PC I've put together myself.
