I recently built a new pc with a friend of mine, unfortunately my ability to contact him is slim. The problem is that my computer will randomly "freeze" for about a minute, the mouse and audio are still responsive, but any program I try to click anything on then freezes. For example, if I'm in skype when it happens, I can still scroll through my current chat, but if I switch to another contact it goes unresponsive. If I'm playing a game, the audio loops and the graphics freeze with the mouse still being responsive.

My system is as follows:
Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M2 RS620-SPM2E3-US 620W
SAPPHIRE 100355L Radeon HD 7850 2GB
Western Digital WD Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA
Acer P6 P246HLAbd Black 24" 5ms Widescreen LED Monitor
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0
LITE-ON Black Internal 12X Blu-ray Combo
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler
Windows 7 Ultimate

Update: I think it has to do with my GFX card, as it typically only happens when I play games. Anyone? help? please?
