Hi,

I would like to build a new best buck budget PC. Will start buying parts now and finish after my pay slip in January, lol. First, let me explain I am saving money for a car that's my priority so I will be putting spare money away each month like $100 and I will sell my laptop around $200 so that makes it $600 in total.

I am an European that means the parts are way more expensive here rather than in US. Luckily, I will be on my vacation in Cali and NYC in the November even during the black Friday but I don't count on any special deals for the upcoming parts.

I tried to build something out of my mind and any advice is welcomed and appreciated.

CPU: Intel i3-8350K ($168) I have chosen this one over i5 8400 because I would pair it with the Z370 motherboard which will be most likely pricey $100 cheapest ones. The good thing is that I will be able to upgrade just a CPU in the future as the Cannon lake will be compatible and maybe even Ice lake.

MOBO: Z370 is not out yet but soon, the rest of chipsets will be rolling out in the 2018 with along with Cannon lake and I am not really exhausted to wait for that long.

GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX 780 ($150) new just opened box comes with all accessories on ebay. I don't wish to spend over $150 on the GPU as this is primary for image editing maybe some video editing and web browsing just occasionally might turn on CS: Global Offensive. The only new GPU within the budget is 1050Ti and I don't expect the 1060 to drop on $150 even on cyber Monday.

RAM: Kingston Fury ($85) two kits 4GB with 2400 MHz frequency as the i3 doesn't support anything higher. Now the question is wouldn't be better go for i5 8400 with some cheap Corsair 2666 memory or the difference would be really small?

HDD: PNY CS1311 ($85) the 240 GB version as I do not need any more space even on my laptop I only use around 138 GB for the 4 years and SSD would be much faster than magnetic drive.

PSU: Corsair TX550M ($49) is that a good pick within $50 budget? I believe it has $20 rabate deal from Newegg.

Any advice so far? I might be able to cut the price on $600 anyway with the black friday deals on the SSD/RAM and maybe MOBO.

Thanks a lot!

This is already more than $600, and you don't even know price of Z370 MB... Overall very thoughtful build. My recommendation for you video editing need, 2 more cores, expandable, PSU is much better, a really good one, TXM is not as reliable as this one:
