So I know there are other threads with similar issues but I haven't found one that definitely answers mine. (A little background info here) I just bought all new pc parts about 2 months ago (all will be listed at bottom of post). It was great until about 3 weeks in i started hearing squeaking. It would happen when I pressed the power button (to power on the pc) and everything would start the fans, ram lighting up, motherboard lighting up, monitor would light up but to a black screen. So I noticed that it squeaked and wouldn't go past a black screen. I out my ear to the computer and it was my ssd making noise. So i bought a new one. Another 3 - 4 weeks go by and the same thing happened again. Only thing is this time when i looked it up again, I read a lot about power supplies squeaking. So I thought to myself maybe it was the power supply i heard because my ssd slot is right above the power supply. So again I listened and I think it is actually the psu. But I just bought the psu now even 2 months ago. Maybe mine was faulty? I cant seem to find another thread with the same situation. So for now I'm stuck with this because I no longer have money to buy new parts. I'm just trying to figure out why and what exactly is going on. If anyone knows exactly what is going on or if there is a fix please let me know!

It could be capacitor whine caused by bad caps. If it is squealing loudly, then it could be something wrong with the psu fan. Either way, that noise is not normal, and if you are sure that it is coming from the psu, then you should get a new one.

Nah, there is not really a way to prevent it short of inspecting and replacing them yourself. It's mostly bad luck becomes sometimes the manufacturer just gets bad capacitors and quality assurance doesn't catch the whine. Also, capacitors can oscillate quite a bit, and if they aren't secured correctly then they can be quite loud. If the caps are damaged in any way or have lost integrity, then gas and fluid escapes and they eventually blow.

UPDATE:
I bought a brand new psu. I got about 2 or 3 days use with it and it started happening again. The squeak noise once again. I dont understand what it is. Ive replaced the hard drive and psu and its still happening. The sound sounds like its coming from one of the 2. But i dont get why its happening if ive already replaced them both. The pc starts, the monitor lights up to a black screen but doesnt go past that.

first off stop buying parts to toss at this issue. return all the parts you can for a refund. with your issue it can be a fan that rubbing or has a bad Bering. first trick is to unplug one fan at a time see if the error stop and starts. with the cpu fan dont unplug it but carefully stop it see if the noise stops. also check to make sure there no wires falling into the cpu and gpu fans. for the gpu fans use msi after burner to turn them off to see if the noise stops. use hard drive vendor test tools to see if it the bering on the drive itself. also unplug the drive and see if the noise stops. one other issue is if your power supply on the bottom of the case and it faces down. is your carpet shag long if it is your case can push down into the shag where the carpet can slow or cause the power supply fan to push into the case.

So the problem with that technique is that the computer works for around 2 - 4 days and then has this problem where and squeaks and wont boot for 1 or 2 days. So trouble shooting whats wrong here would literally take me weeks. I'll try to do some troubleshooting but I wont have a definite answer on the problem still. Unless i leave specific parts out for a few days to see if it still happens or not.

You don't need to buy new anything, just contact the vendor for a warranty replacement. You may want to have someone else check over the system to make sure it's all connected well, stand-offs in place on the case for the motherboard, nothing hanging loose, maybe listen for what the issue is.

I cant return most of the parts because i bought them months ago. And like I said before I listened and it sounds like it could only be my psu or ssd but i replaced both and still have the same issue. Im going to continue troubleshooting to the best of my ability.

You should check for bad capacitors like I said before. Take a close look at your motherboard and look for any damaged or bulging caps. There are not many parts that can squeal loudly AND affect booting unless you have two separate issues.

The warranty on the parts should be good for a year or more for some things. There is more than one way to return things, the warranty is not just a return to where you bought it.

UPDATE: So motherboard capacitors all looked good, pins were good. Reseated Ram and both Gpus. Changed sata cables on drives. Inspecting cpu cooler and readjusted it. I did notice that 2 of the pins on my sli bridge were messed up. One of them was obliterated (read about next pin. Picture that but much worse) and the other had thin strips of metal almost as if it were peeling from the middle. So I switched the sli bridge for a spare. Hopefully that was just the problem. Will update when I power on.

UPDATE:
Pc booted and powered on. Seemed there was a 2 or 3 second delay verses the usual speed it used to boot at. Loud scratchy noise. (2 cables touching gpu fan while on) am currently moving the wires a tad bit over. Fixed that. Pc booted normally with no issues. Now i just gotta use the pc for about a week to truely see if it works.

UPDATE:
The noise occurred mid use on my pc. It did not crash the system or anything like that. I continued use for about 20 minutes longer and then shut off the computer. I won't be using it until tomorrow even if it wasnt squeaking. So we will see if it turns on or gives me problems tomorrow.
