Hello everyone, My brother just brought a new pc prebuilt from PC specialist/Curry’s PC World, I usually build my own but he bought this :

https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/gamin...ore-i9-rtx-3080-ti-2-tb-ssd-10232970-pdt.html

It’s meant to be plug and play out of the box. We’ve tried

  • DP and hdmi into the graphics card
  • Different monitors
  • Reseating the ram
  • Pulling cmos battery

it turns on, fans spin & everything but the monitor lights up and just stays a lit up black screen? When I unplug the 3080ti and use the mobo’s integrated graphics it boots to windows fine? Could this be a faulty gpu fresh out the box? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Could this be a faulty gpu fresh out the box?
Sure it could be. Another possibility is, if the PC was shipped with GPU installed in it, any mishandling of the package could cause damage to motherboard PCIe slot or the GPU. Generally speaking, since that's prebuilt, if reseating GPU and checking/swapping its power cables will not solve your problem, there is no point for further troubleshooting - just pack the damn thing and send it back.
