Recently just scrapped my old harddrive and bought a new SSD with a copy windows 7 to start fresh.

Selected automatic install and let it load into the desktop which is where I noticed the ethernet logo in the taskbar was red lined. Tried restarting my router, using different ethernet cables and connecting using a wireless instead but nothing changed, the error was the same. Error code 651.

It's telling me that there are no drivers detected for ethernet or the wireless adapter, I believe this is because my windows copy did not come with enough drivers installed for whatever reason, I have messaged the seller and a replacement with all the drivers needed is on the way. Just wanted to check if there's an obvious reason for this

Thanks very much in advance

Solution
stock Windows only carries a generic network driver which does not play well with lots of network hardware.

All you have to do is look up your motherboard and go the manufacturer website and download the network driver from there.

Where'd you get it from? they should all come with windows?

You cracked it! :) Thanks a million
