CPU:I5-4670k @ 3.40 GHz

Motherboard: Asus Z87-A
GPU: GeForce GTX 770 2GB
550W Power Supply

Is this a worthwhile upgrade? Only component I don’t have any idea about is the CPU.

Any advice helpful, I’m a PC noob.

Yes, for the most part it's a decent upgrade. I'd suggest a Ryzen 3600 instead of the 2600. The 3600 brings a lot more performance. Other than that, make sure your PSU is up to the task. What brand is it? If it's older than 3 years and isn't a reputable brand, you should consider changing it.

It would be a strong 1080p high hz/1440p 60hz gaming system.

The 2600 is a good CPU, but the 3600 will offer much better upgrade. The 5700XT is about 10% faster than the 2060 Super, all while being less expensive.

What drives are involved here?
If there isn't a solid state drive for at least the OS, then you need one.
250GB or larger.

If the PSU is getting towards 8 years old you will want to look at getting a new one. A Corsair TXM runs 65 & 70 Quid for the 550W and 650W respectively. They are a good quality PSU that should last another 8 years.

Gaming performance of the 3600 will be similar to a stock 9600k(f) or 8700k. Encoding, photoshop, etc... will generally be faster with the 3600 than the 9600k(f) and equal to the 8700k.
