I built my first gaming pc ever but my experience went from very good to frustration now. I was waiting for ram to arrive in mail yesterday. When it arrived, I was so excited to bring my new pc alive. I installed the ram (crucial ballistic 16gb 3200Mhz X 2) separate from each other for dual channel on 2 and 4 positions. The pc opened very smooth, went to bios (MSI B550 TOMAWHAWK) and applied XMP profile for my ram but I figured out that one of the two ram sticks is not detected by the bios. I closed the bios and installed windows 10 and opened task manage to confirm 2nd ram working or no. I got similar result that PC only reading 8gb of ram not 16gb.

I shutdown the pc and opened the case removed the be quiet pro 4 CPU cooler front fan to be able to reach the ram positions. I re adjusted ram positions and saw by luck that USB C stuck under the GPU (GIGABYTE RTX 3060 TI) so I detached the GPU and added the USB C in its right position and then reseated the GPU in its slot.
NOW THE FUN STARTS. I tried to start the pc but the PC or motherboard not getting any kind of power with no lights it is like completely dead with no sign of life, and none of the fans are spinning nor the PSU Fan. I checked every single cable on the motherboard (8 PIN CPU, 24 PIN MOBO, GPU 8 PIN, SSD, and FRONT PANEL CONNECTORS). I made sure PSU power cable connected and PSU Button in open position. I removed the PSU and tried it on my old PC, and the fans started to SPIN which means that power supply is working. I went very depressed after I could not get it to run again.

I ordered Microcenter diagnostic for $40 closed the case and took it to microcenter. The service team are not super friendly but all reviews said that they are super knowledgeable and they told me it will take couple of days to just diagnose and maybe extra if repair is needed.

Full specs: ( CROSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW, Ryzen 7 5800x, RTX 3060 Ti, 2 SSD, 2 X 8GB Crucial Ballistic 3200MHz, MSI B550 TOMAHAWK, 600W EVGA 80 PLUS PSU, Dark Rock 4 PRO CPU COOLER)

*Note: I was using the same PSU for 5 months in my old pc with the RTX 3060 ti
Sorry for making it too long but I just feel bad and I would like to hear your opinions about this situation guys. What do you think what have happened ???

Summarizing, is this correct?

1; a RAM stick was not detected for an unknown reason.

2; you opened the case and then "saw by luck that USB C stuck under the GPU (GIGABYTE RTX 3060 TI) so I detached the GPU and added the USB C in its right position and then reseated the GPU in its slot. "

3; from that point on, you cannot boot and have no signs of life at all.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

separate from each other for dual channel on 2 and 4 positions.
You mean slots A2 and B2?

EVGA is the brand of the PSU while 600W is the advertised wattage of the unit. Please mention the model of the unit for the sake of relevance.

I removed the PSU and tried it on my old PC,
You mean you tried the paperclip test? If so, that doesn't state how much wattage the PSU can effectively deliver to any system.

In order to rule out the PSU being the root of this issue, you might want to source a donor PSU and then test it out on your new build. You've sent it into Microcenter so you're going to have to wait and see what they say. Interim period, you'll have to be patient.

1- FOR PSU it is EVGA - W1 Series 600W ATX 12V/EPS 12V 80 Plus Power Supply - Black
and I used this exact PSU with my older build with the same graphics card. I bought a new case, motherboard, CPU, 500gb SSD, and ram and took my Old RTX 3060 TI along with my PSU in the new build.

2- Yeah I am sorry about the confusion, I did put the ram sticks on A2 B2 as advised on my MSI manual.

Thanks for the reply and I really appreciate you helping me in my first build I create myself.

Thanks all for help, microcenter confirmed that the motherboard became defective, they took all of my components including ram and they plugged it on another motherboard and it worked fine. I ordered new motherboard and returned the old one. Hope me the best
