I bought a new desktop for my wife for Christmas. It was custom built by the Computer store that built the one I am using now. I only had the computer unit (box) built like my current computer. It is not the same as my current box, if anything it is of a lower simplicity. I bought it home, gave it to her for Christmas. I am going to try and pair it with one of two ASUS PA246Q (27 inch) monitors, one of which was being used for my backup computer and works with it. Both of these PA246Q monitors were used for my current system and both worked with that system. They have since been replaced with ASUS 32 inch monitors. My idea was to use one of these PA246Q monitors with my wife's new system.
When I got everything arranged and plugged in, there was nothing on the display. The computer came on and did something, the monitor was alive (red light) and was connected to the new box with an HDMI cable (both ends), but there was nothing on the display. The new box had an M SI Ge Force GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with an HDML output socket on it. I even tried a working VGA cable -- nothing on the screen.
So now I have a nice box with a Rizen 5 5600X CPU and a couple of SSDs - one (C) for the systems and programs and the other (D) for data, etc.- 16 Gigs of Corsair Vengeance memory and other things that will not talk to a simple ISP monitor.
Before I take it back to the builder, I am hoping that someone here might be able to provide some insight that would get it going the way it is suppose to go.
Thanks.
