This is pretty much my Pc as of now, I was trying to build something okay for as little money as I could.

I put the PC together today using some spare parts from a Dell Inspiron 560 (Case, Hdd, optical drive) but ran into a problem. I put it together and it's not putting out any video. So I tried taking it apart and hurt it further by breaking the little bracket keeps the GPU in because it wouldn't release and I overestimated the little brackets strength. The fans and light's turn on but my monitor isn't displaying anything. I don't know what to do at this point as this is my first time building a PC and after the various troubles I was given just getting the parts I am quickly tiring of PC building and could use assistance before I just trash it all together.

I am aware it needs a BIOS update before it will work with the CPU but i'm unsure if that's the problem and if it is how to update it without being able to enter the BIOS.

BTW, everything is either new or worked before I put it together

To update BIOS you need a compatible CPU. If you are aware that it needs another BIOS version, what's there to discus ?
Your PSU may not be strong enough either.
Take everything out of the case and start by installing minimum number of parts. CPU; GPU; PSU and RAM.

I wasn't aware of that as it is my first time >_<. I pulled everything off and nothings changed. I Even went ahead and tested the GPU, HDD and PSU on the original hardware and everything booted up fine. I don't think it's a power issue because the R7 would run fine on the original 300 watt power supply with the original components. Does that mean I'd have to buy an 860k just to run the 845?

According to compatibility list it needs P1.9 version of BIOS and for 865 would need P2.0. By rule of thumb when you need to upgrade BIOS you have to use CPU that needs lowest BIOS version and it's P1.5. What I don't understand is if you bought new MB it should have come with newest BIOS version.

I think mine was on P1.6. I bought it new off of Jet.com though the box tells me it came from Newegg. I think I might just have to send it back and look for a different brand.
