First time overclocker.. I've read wusy's guide - not the same as doing it yourself though 🙁

Stock cooler for the moment.. but hopeing for a Tuniq Tower 120.

I have a ton of questions still left unanswered though.. like.. Do I increase the fsb streight to 400 and hope for the best or what?

May not be recommended, but I did it. I'm not very patient though. :twisted: Must say, it worked like a charm. 6300 with a Giga S3 board. Can't say if your set up will have such happy returns.

To be safe, just go with wusy's guide. Followed it myself, with the exception of starting at 333FSB.

I did, as well. i went straight to 400, followed wusy's guide, failed dual inst. of prime95, upped vcore from 1.375 to 1.3875 and i'm stable 8)

Don't try to confuse me more..

Got my ram, psu and case today.. tomorrow i'll have the rest

As I said.. im on a stock cooler, so i'll be happy with 2.8ghz

You can, but I wouldn't recommend that.

Go to 333fsb, increase voltages as wuzy's guide says, then test for stability. Then keep increasing the fsb, and also voltages might require increasing too.

Where can I find the wusy guide... I searched it and came up with umpteen results that did not show specific location...

actually you can go higher on a e6300 with stock HSF

i got mine to 3.0ghz @ 1.26 volts stable with 52c under max load
