So I got this pc and its been a while since I've been on pc gaming again, but i am trying to play halo infinite and while the game runs fine and smoothly on low settings the temp is around 80-90 while playing and the pc I got is

AMD Ryzen 5 5600G Processor • 6-core
3.9 GHz
RAM Memory: 8 GB
Thermal Solution (PIB) Wraith Stealth

and I'm wondering are those normal temps ? I do have plans to upgrade ram and better cooling fan but just would like some help on this

Solution
i kinda have a question and i don't know if this is for my case but i found this article about high temps, but i didn't see mine on the website so i was kinda at a loss for what kind of cooler that would work for my case or if its normal temps but this was the article i found. but as i do need more ram in later times i would still try to look for a cooler as well

That article pertains to all 5000 series processors and most likely in the context of stock coolers like yours or mid to low performance aftermarket coolers. It is saying that the processors can and will go into the 90C range and that it should only be concerning if...
Given that you are using the IGP, and a wraith stealth, yea those temps are hot, but not surprising. I would definitely get a better cooler. If your case can support it, even this would be vastly superior.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU Cooler: Deepcool GAMMAXX 400 Blue 74.34 CFM CPU Cooler ($18.98 @ Amazon)
Total: $18.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

i have just the standard hp pavilion so do you think it would?

Would the wraith prism or max fit his case? Much better cooler that is relatively low profile and you can get them used for like 20-35 dollars.

In my opinion if your processor is going over 80 in games you need a new cooler.

Just got this Fractal 280 Liquid. Upgraded from a dying Enermax 240. Keeps my 4790k @ 30c while running Sekiro and gets up to 48-55c on Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Though I am running max setting on Sekiro and medium setting AC: Valhalla. I suppose you could use case fans, to create static pressure. That would move air faster and bring new air in, allowing the cooler to keep up with heat dissipation. I would suggest looking into Static Pressure and Fan CFM, if you're looking to the cheapest upgrade. I'm not sure help a lot, though maybe it will.

i will look into it!

Removing the backplate "should be" relatively easy but some OEMs make custom motherboards and backplates. That Noctua cooler is also very good for what it is, a low profile CPU cooler.
see i just haven't really ever done aything like that. so i would probably have to get someone else to do that for me. but it seemed to work for that one guy and brought his temps down. so its worth a shot

Dont be scared to get your hands dirty. The backplate is a CPU heatsink support on the back of the motherboard. They are typically easy to remove.
hahah forsure ill look into it! i did just now try the power options and setting maximum processor state to around 86% and it seemed to keep my games at around 74-82 on temps this time instead of going straight to 85+ but that was just one game but probably still gonna upgrade cooler to hopefully get it to the70s on temps

The Wraith Stealth is better than the Intel stock cooler, that's all I can say. If you don't want to go extreme, something like this would be a huge upgrade:

a TG01-2003w(HP)
Oh ok, didn't realise it was a pre-built. That's complicated things because they are fairly small as towers go. Looks like the Artic might be too big, unfortunately I can't see any published details on max cooler dimensions. There is a couple of people on youtube that have upgraded them:

The Noctua NH-L9x65 seems to fit, it just isn't a particularly cheap cooler that's all.

Noctua NH-L9x65 or Noctua NH-L12S which would be the better one?
