I have just dug out my old PC that was built back in 2007! I was into overclocking then (still am now) so its got the following - (please dont laugh a my specs!)

E6420 C2D running 3.5ghz
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 F12 bios (PCIE 1.1)
OCZ platinum rev 2 pc-6400 running 870mhz
Geforce 8800 GTS 640mb OC'd
Antec Neo HE 550w PSU with something like 58a on 12v rail combined (3 rails)

I thought i would start to revive my PC and am looking at upgrading the graphics card first although in time the rest will be upgraded at some point.

Question is, what graphics card to get? Im looking at spending at most £200, i orginally was going for the R9 280X but read around that these can be a risk of not working when used with the old 1.1 PCIE slot?

Ive read that all the Nvidia cards should all be backwards compatible with PCIE 1.1 so was thinking of getting the GTX 960? Was looking at the Inno3D GeForce GTX 960 iChill X3 Air Boss Ultra as this, from what i can tell, has the highest out of the box clocks and hopefully will clock more so although reviews on it seem to be a little short at the moment. Its either that or the Gigabyte GTX 960 G1 Gaming.

Edit - Also forgot to mention my LCD monitor is only 1680 x 1050 so will be playing in that resolution.

All advice welcome, ive been out of the scene for too long!

Thanks
