Hello everyone, i'm doing my first custom build. I've got most of the parts nailed down, but I'm unsure what I need/ should get in terms of a cpu cooler, power supply and case. I'm a photographer, and will be using Adobe Master Collection with primary use being in photoshop and bridge. I have a massive library of photos to be able to sort through and often work on huge layered files, (6 gb saved size). i got most of the components on Cyber Monday, but didn't know enough about the options to get the other parts then.

What i have already (purchased, so not looking for advice on these components):

intel i7 3770K processor

ASRock Z77 Extreme6/TB4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Kingston HyperX Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KHX16C10B1BK2/16X

EVGA 02G-P4-3651-KR GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

3 of Seagate Barracuda 7200 3 TB 7200RPM SATA 6 Gb/s NCQ 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive ST3000DM001 (to run in RAID setup, probably RAID 5 but could use opinions on best way to set up)

SanDisk Extreme SSD 240 GB SATA 6.0 Gb-s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SDSSDX-240G-G25 (for operating system and programs)

I'm considering this power supply since Newegg has a sale on it for $89.99 after rebate:
High Current Pro HCP-750 750W TX12V v2.3 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

I don't know *** about power supplies or CPU coolers, so i could really use some advice there.

I also have no idea what case to get. i'd like to get a full tower, with lots of room and enough fans that I don't need a heatsink, although I may add one later when i overclock if its needed.
pros: quiet, dark-(I don't want a lot of led's or lights, since I will leave it uploading photos to the web while I sleep), easy to install components, expandable

Any advice is appreciated, but please bear in mind that I'm a newbie to this, so i don't know all the vocabulary.

Thank you!

Looks good. I don't see a rebate on Newegg though. You might want to grab one more drive for RAID 10 instead which would still give you the same redundency (Any time 1 disk failure, 2 disk failure if alternative stripes) without the downtime of repairing the RAID 5 if said disk dies. RAID 10 is also less resource intensive.

I would suggest a CPU cooler, but since you aren't overclocking yet.... Perhaps you should just pick up a relatively cheap Hyper 212 Evo. If you feel like something more exotic or higher performance (thats still simple to install) you can either look at Noctuas, Prolimatech Megahalems (these are the only ones you may have a chance at using without a fan, but may need to invest in higher performance exhaust fan(s).

Full tower? Sure? They are pretty big and choices are more limited.
Corsair 800D is a good choice that looks nice and professional.

As a Photoshop user myself (I design large posters that too are several GBs per file), you may want a little bit more RAM as the system will crawl to a halt when you have multiple said files open (I have 18GB).

Thanks Cerunnos, The rebate deal is through the newegg emails, not listed on their site. (With Promo Code: EMCYTZT2675
After $40 MIR with Free Shipping!)

I will overclock, even if not right off the bat, so i think I'd rather get a CPU cooler that can take it, rather than have to replace a cheap one later... What are the advantages of the ones you listed? I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be looking for in a cooler. When you say without using a fan, what do you mean? Is it better to go with the heatsink only, or to get one with a fan as well? It looks like the hyper 212 evo has a fan, while prolimatech doesn't, and all the noctuas I saw did have fans... and which Noctua were you meaning?

I'm not set on a full tower case, but size doesn't bother me, so i figured full tower would be easier to install, and cooler... Is that the case, or am i deluding myself? Any opinions?
The corsair 800 has 11 drive bays, which made me wonder if I need one with that many, and if my Mobo can even handle that many drives...

Thanks!
