What's more annoying in my eyes, is the fact a smart device on your network has had no updates for 2 years, so is a threat to all other connected devices and your privacy. The right to fix laws should be extended to force manufacturers to either update devices a minimum of 2 times a year for 5 years or while any variation of the product is in production and then open source all the software for community support. If companies shouldn't be able to use IP and company secret excuses not to do this for a product they won't support.
