Question New power supply won't power on but for a split second

I bought a new power supply because I kept getting random crashes with my old cx600m green label pay. I bout the new evga supernova 650ga. I finally got around to installing, got everything all hooked up flip the switch on the back and press the power button on the front of the case and nothing but a split second of power to the fans, you have to flip the switch on the PSU off and on again to even get that split second of power again. Now just for giggles I plugged the old pay back in just laying in the case and the computer fired right up. Does this mean the new psu I got it junk?

either that or one of the cables were not connected correctly I would try again then you know for sure.

Yeah I did try like 5 times and still same outcome, so I've already set up to return this one and have another shipped , hopefully that one is DOA like this one clearly is.
