New powerline adapters causing some wifi devices to not connect

I've added some non-wireless powerline adapters to my existing one-router wifi network and they work great, but my housemates are complaining that they sometimes can't connect to the wifi when the powerline is on.

Does the powerline adapter take priority over wifi connections, or is there something more fundamental I'm missing?

Is there a way to restrict the powerline data usage to a few Mbits/s to avoid this problem?

Anything else I might have missed?

Thanks!

The powerline devices should have no impact at all on wireless. They operate on completely different frequencies and do not even radiate from the power cables very far.

You likely have some other conflict in your router. To the router the powerline would appear the same as a ethernet cable. I would try a firmware update on your router if it is available. You may have some form of IP or mac address conflict. Not being able to connect to the WiFi though is very different that getting connection to the WiFI but having it not pass data to the internet. These are very different problems.

i think bill001g is incorrect. We have exactly the same problem in the house. Some computers are trying to connect to the wrong IP address, not the correct one for our router. We got around it by manually assigning the IP addresses for a couple of devices, but it didn't work for all.
After an hour with technical support seeking for the device in the house with this rogue IP address, I finally unplugged the powerline adpater (TP link tl pa 4010) and suddenly all devices can automatically connect to the router.
Google wifi support said the adapter is declaring it's own IP address instead of automatically getting one from our wifi router. Haven't yet found a way to change this. Lots of rebooting sometimes works. and otherwise manually assigning IP addresses sometimes works.
