Hi guys.
I need your help.
So 2 weeks ago I bought a new internal HDD for my Asus laptop because the old HDD was corrupted and I wasn't able to use it to install windows and reboot. The new Seagate HDD has been working fine and I actually felt my laptop is fast and good like brand new. The old hdd caused me so much trouble that I thought all my problems were resolved with Seagate product until yesterday. I was browsing the Internet like what I always do until it completely froze then turned into the blue screen of death. I restarted it then it asked me to choose between 2 main options: safe mode reboot or start computer normally. No matter what I choose it goes to a black screen. Not even windows logo shows up. So here's what ive noticed so far:
1. HDD is recognized is bios I can see it most of the time but sometimes when I put Win installation disc it only detects the latter (and not the HDD). After reboot I can see it again stating all the info such as storage, serial number, brand etc.
2. Apart from bios, the hdd is not recognized anywhere:
A. I inserted my win installation disc, clicked the repair computer. It doesn't see the hdd at all. It asks to load drivers, I click and it confirms that there is no HDD.
B. I tried to reinstall windows and then it says something like there is no partition available
C. I tried to follow the instructions I found online regarding diskpart and when I typed disk list it says there is no disk to show.
3. I inserted my old corrupted HDD to check if the computer can access it and it does. I can see the partitions of the old HDD even tho one of the three is corrupted and inaccessible but at least I can see them during "repair computer" process.
So obviously there is something going wrong with the new HDD or maybe I should do enable something in the computer to make it fully recognize it and access windows already installed in it.
I only see it in bios... but the computer itself doesn't.
Sorry for the long text but I hope I gave all the information needed to help you understand the situation.
I'm looking forward to your tips and insights.
Thanks so much
