New Processor, Old Mobo (8700 and Asus Maximus IV Hero)

I'm looking at upgrading my machine for Christmas. Current specs:

EVGA GTX 980
Asus Maximus IV Hero
i7 4770k (w. Noctua D15)
EVGA 750W PSU
Samsung 840 EVO

I'm swapping in an RTX 2070 and an 8700k.

Given the new architecture, would I need to change the Maximus IV Hero for a newer one? I've had this board with zero problems since 2012.

For an 8700k you'll need an new motherboard(300 series) and new ram(DDR4).
