I have the following hardware working fine but a simple CPU switch causes the system to not boot. What am I doing wrong?
Asrock X470 Taichi
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8-Core 3.7 CPU
Team Group Team T-Force Xtreem 16GB DDR4 4133 (PC4-33000) Ram Memory
(2) XFX Radeon RX 590 Fatboy 8GB 256-Bit DDR5 PCI Express 3.0 in Crossfire
EVGA 850W Power Supply
(1) Samsung V-Nand SSD860 EVO 500GB Boot Drive
(2) WD 2TB 7200 RPM Blue Drives
These computer parts work great together and the only overclocking I do is to the Ram Memory. I wanted to upgrade to a better CPU so I bought a
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12 Core/24 Thread Desktop CPU. As soon as I install the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, Windows starts acting like it cannot boot. To the point where it starts asking me do I want to reset the system back to the original settings. I never tried that, but I do need some help trying to figure out why a simple CPU change causes Windows not to work. If I take the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X out of the system and replace the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X the computer boots and works like a charm. I did get the 3900X to work with these parts temporarily but the boot times were over 6 minutes and then later it would not boot to Windows, just watching a spinning ball spin for hours. Put in the 2700X CPU and the system works fine. What is going on.
