Hello, my friend already have his list of PC Parts ready to be bought this Christmas.

He asked me if he can buy the PSU first for his old pc for him to recover his files in that old PC, now I am worried if that PSU won't work in his old pc, the psu is a Seasonic G550W, on a old PC that is a dual core and the rest are relics.

Just wanna ask if there would be a chance that this psu will be damaged or something because of the old components attatched to it.

Solution
No it will work as if it was suppose to even tho its a modern PSU you wont affect anything and infact you could use this until the pc died if so needed.
Point in case 2005 pc and a 2015 PSU will work as if nothing is different as long as the connections hook up no issues.
no it wont damage your psu or your hardware......but using it permanently is not recommended because modern pc have a diffrent way of using power compared to your old..... but just to copy date it should be fine.... keep in mind that it depends upon how old is your pc ..........
