Just bought a NEC 22" monitor for $199.00 off lease from Tiger Direct and
also a ATI 9600XT Video card for $189.00. Was going to get a FX5700 Ultra
but it just seems that the ATI cards have more bang for the buck. Did I get
decent deal and will that vid card hold up when DOOM III comes out, dont
need the latest and greatest, just want something that will get me by until
I can get a new MO-BO, processor, memory combo.

Current sys is....
P4 1.7
Asus p4b
512mem pc 133
gforce fx5200

have been a nvidia guy for many years since orig gforce days so this is a
big change

so.. nice you enjoy an Ati card, I self have had both nvidia has ati
cards... but who cares...

For the ati group head next past the toilet, through the blue door
alt.comp.periphs.videocards.ati

you over payed on the 9600 tx a little but not much and yea you got a good
deal on the monitor.
you realy need to ask in the ati group.

your cpu and mem is holding you back .
for a ati 9600 tx you realy want a cpu around 2.4 gig to 3 gig and you want
around 1 gig of ram for todays games like far cry.
and why ask in a nvida area whin you want advice on ati card?
