I just got my Sapphire Fury X earlier today, as well as a new Asus MG279Q monitor (1440p 144hz Freesync IPS).

Before putting the card in I used DDU to nuke the old driver and restarted from safe mode with the new 15.7 driver downloaded, ready to install.

I hooked it up with DisplayPort from card to MiniDP on Asus monitor and HDMI to HDMI on one of my Samsung SBX2331 monitors(LCD 1080p 60z TFT).

Started up, installed driver, rebooted after installation. Everything appears to work fine.

First game test, WoW. Log into a character fully and check video options. Already set to 1440p 144hz, ultra still on from previous settings. AA was off, so I enabled the SSAA option. Hit apply and it instantly shut my PC off and then automatically powered on after 2-3 seconds.

Figured there was a problem with SMAA or something so I left it off(didn't save because of the instant PC reboot) and tried playing. After getting to a seemingly random area in the game, it shut off and restarted again. I had just volunteered to run friends through a dungeon so I logged back on and lowered a few settings, put the refresh rate down, and changed it to Fullscreen instead of Windowed(Fullscreen) since I know sometimes there are issues. It still crashed, in what seemed like another random situation. Two completely different areas and one involved other players, the other did not.
When it came back on this time, I just set everything to low and finished the dungeon. It was still at 1440p 144hz in Fullscreen mode. It never crashed, even after about an hour-hour and a half, as opposed to a few minutes before a crash every other time.
After finishing I decided to try another game. Picked Fractured Space which has a lot of particle effects. Game ran pretty much flawlessly on maxed settings in 1440p at 144hz Windowed Fullscreen.
Tried WoW again, put it back on Ultra with Windowed Fullscreen mode.
Seemed okay and then randomly crashed again.

Thinking that it was possible(though unlikely) that the card was overheating, possibly because of a defect, I kept the AMD Overdrive open to monitor the temperature, and my motherboards program to monitor voltage, temp, etc. Everything stayed under 49C the entire time with no sudden spikes other than booting the games.

I have automatic restart on system failure disabled, and it still automatically shut off.
Checking the event log shows a "planned shutdown" for a minor BSOD. Seems like an oxymoron to me...

Event ID: 1074
The process C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe (XXXX) has initiated the restart of computer XXXX on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
Reason Code: 0x800000ff

There is no actual error before or during the crash in the event viewer. Even the events that say that the previous system shutdown was unexpected have no entries pertaining to a crash shortly before them. In one case there is a 13 minute gap and the computer always restarted within a minute.

Before this card and driver I have had no issue. While I can try and install an older driver, this is the one I am going to have to use for Windows 10, barring another release before then. It would be nice to be able to narrow it down to the driver and not something else I can fix, before I do that and remove some of the features they just added.

fury X require at least 25 amp on a dedicated rail for power

Your PSU has a limit on single rail with 18 amp

So we will try mixing rails , if it did not work you need to get a PSU with at least 25 amp on a dedicated rail

Is it a problem in WoW only ?
Did you try many other games as well ?
Generally is your computer crashing without running games or it crashes on games only ?
since you said Picked Fractured Space ran well could you repair/reinstall WoW ?

If your computer is running good and playing heavy games well but restart/crash at a certain game then there is a great chance this game has missing files / corrupted OR needs a file that is deleted/changed by mistake .

Actually, I just tried another game that had Mantle support(or says it does) after this, Ashes of the Singularity. Started it in the Mantle mode and set everything to max. The literal instant I let go of the mouse button when clicking to start a game the computer reboots.
The same behavior as in WoW. It is so fast when it happens, even in WoW if I choose the SSAA + CMAA option, that the display never changes or blanks like it is refreshing, the computer just instantly powers off.

After going and doing some other things for a bit, I came back to the computer in sleep mode, which it only does from the login screen. It had to have restarted while I was away, so it appears it is doing outside of games as well, but taking a much longer time to occur.

The random ones in WoW I should probably time, but this is looking like some bizarre memory issue where it happens when it fills up or something.

I just now read a post somewhere else about a computer shutting off because of insufficient power getting to the card. They had one cable running to both 8 pin connectors on their card(wasn't a Fury X).

I have a modular PSU from my previous PC which was already a 750w, so I didn't get a new one with this build.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817815002
Xigmatek NRP-MC751

It has a bundle of cables that are part of the PSU, which has 2 6/8 pin PCI-E connectors. I used these to plug it in and was wondering if maybe this was the problem, despite them both being separate cables all the way to the PSU.
It has a 12v 8 pin connector on the modular set, so I added the cable and used it on one of the Fury X connectors and one of the other cables from the PSU itself for the other.

When attempting to power the PC like this, I can hear and see some sort of "spark" which appears to be near the "bottom" of the motherboard. Likely from the card or something, but I was unable to tell. The entire PC does nothing other than that for a split second when I try to power it on in this configuration. The fans don't even begin to spin or anything. All of the lights, such as an LED on the motherboard and the NIC LED go out for a few seconds before coming back on. Pressing the power button again does nothing at all, not even the "spark".

Returned it to the original configuration and it still boots and runs. Still crashes.

I am still not really sure if it is the PSU or something else at this point, but it seems more likely it is hardware than software considering this.

Should I just bite the bullet and try a new PSU?

The 12v 8 pin EPS connector (which is black color in your PSU) is NOT FOR GPU usage , it is for server usage on some motherboard
it is not ATX standard too , do not use it at all .

Now as far as I know your PSU has 3 6pin connectors and 3 6/8 pin connectors ; 2 of the 6pin are on the psu in red color the third connector is coming out of the psu itself ,, the 3 6/8 pin connectors comes out directly from the PSU ,, right ??

If i am right could you check wire colors on the 3 6/8 pin connectors ?

Your PSU has multi rail design which means it disturb power to 4 different 12v rails

12v1 12v2 12v3 12v4

12v1,12v2 is used for cpu power , sata cables , molex power cables , floppy , motherboard 24pin power

12v3,12v4 both are used in PCI-E connectors ; one carry 2 6pin connectors and 1 6/8 pin connector
the other carries 2 6/8 pin connectors and 1 6pin connector

Some PSUs with multiple rails different their rails by the cable wire color ; if that is true you will see one 6pin cable + 2 6/8pin cable of the same color // 1 6/8pin cable and 2 6pin cable of the same color (modular cables are counted too)
at the least you will see 2 6/8pins cables with the same color

If that is true could you install 2 6/8pins cables of the same wire color into your gpu ?
if computer restarts again then you cant have all the load on same rail
test again with different 6/8pins cables OF different wire color
if computer restarts again then you must replace that PSU with one good single rail PSU

note : 6/8 pins are the 6+2 connectors you have on your psu
6pin are the 6 connector you have modular colored red and 1 from psu

It only has 2 PCI-E 6/8 pins coming from the PSU. The only other 6/8s you can get are from the extra modular 8 pin.

So my guess is it is limiting the 2 6/8s to that single rail :/

I have the book out right now, which is one of those annoying types for multiple models, but still...
It shows 12v1,12v2 as 18A and 12v3, 12v4 as 30A for this model on the table listing them all.
The table for rail distribution has both 6+2s on the 12v3 rail, but it says they are modular 6+2.

The spec table for this model says the max output for all of the 12v rails is 18A, which is different from the earlier table showing a comparison of all models, which says 2 of them are 30A.
So it looks like one set of specs is off for some reason, and really the problem is both 6+2s are on the same 12v3 18A rail.

Guess I will have to get a new PSU :/

Really just need to make sure I get a PSU with at least one 25A rail, possibly 2 if I decide to crossfire, with probably 700W minimum, I guess?

And last update, thanks ZENprime.

I went and bought a new PSU. It isn't the best, as I would like a silver at least, but I can deal with it later if I decide to crossfire. Sort of needed one in a hurry so I couldn't wait for shipping.

I may just have a better one shipped and return this one when it gets here, but man I hate taking these out and putting another in.

No crashes thus far by using the setting that was causing an instant crash before, so I am fairly certain that was the problem.

No problem at all , enjoy the new card
You can stay with your current psu untill you think of crossfire ,
You then would need a 1000 watt psu with single 12v rail with at least 4x8pin so do you not run into not enough amp on multiple rails again
copper bronze silver gold platinum makes your PSU draw less power from the wall socket ; it lowers your electricity bill but it does not affect performance in any way .

For GPU psu requirement :
http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
Check PSU ranking :
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
http://i.imgur.com/UOu1Vq6.jpg

on a side note I did make a mistake by thinking your old psu had 3 x 8pin cables
turn out it was 2x8pin on a 12v rail that has 18 amp limit
