Hi Guys

my brother is upgrading my Desktop PC with an SSD, all working fine

my PC comes with 4 x slots
It already has 2 x 2GB ram installed

Bought myself 2 x 4GB ram to put in the other 2 slots, when it’s installed the computer turns on but screen is blank, take the new ram out and screen works

any idea why this is happening?

the new RAM I ordered was DDR2 800mhz 240 pin PC2-6400 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Saniter-8-GB-2X-4-GB-DDR2-800MHz-240-PIN-PC2-6400-AMD-CPU-Motherboard-Memory-RAM-/191802693799?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

my PC ram on its specs says the above, but says 400mhz
is this why the new ram isn’t working? 😳
I’m not good with computers lol!
Here is a screenshot of my PC screen specs

I can’t find 2 x 4GB Ram sticks anywhere for DDR2 400mhz PC2-6400, it don’t exist ?

please look at the link to see the image which displays my motherboard
really need more information on the motherboard than that! Like the mode number they made several of them .

Right off the bat I can tell you they were very few of them that can use 16GB of memory that would make your 4GB sticks the problem, again this depends on the nodal number of the board.
