So i had only 2gb of RAM and i bought this extra 4GB for gaming like thingy..

my problem is, whatever combination i try, the RAM doesnt work? The bios detects it, but after the windows logo(windows 8), the computer displays the message - "Your computer ran into a problem and needs to restart"

I really dont know the brand of this RAM, looks unreputed, but its all the right specs, and technically, good or bad brand, it should work?!??RIGHT?

BIOS detects it as 6144MB of ram, but not windows?

Solution
Telling what motherboard you're running on would help.
Also, what speed are the ram as some speed memory might no work together especially if they're different brands.
And also what slots are you running the rams on? If you have a 4 DIMM motherboard make sure the RAMs are in the same color slots as that could help.
It might also be a registry error as I have seen that before with adding/changing components.

do you have 32-bit windows or 64-bit windows?

Its a foxconn h61mx mobo. And i dont think its a problem with combining the rams, cos i tried removing the old and running the new one solo. It detects in the bios all perfect, but win doesnt boot up! and ive got win. 8 64 bit! and its a DIMM mobo slot, and to be precise, this is my MOBO - http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=motherboard&U=en-us0000525

i know its not the greatest, but im desperate here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and if its a registry error, how do i solve it?

thanks so far!

Done with MEMTEST. came out 100% pass and no errors... this is worrying me more for some reason!

Well, you don't have a hardware error with the DIMMs. That is a good thing. That does say it is something -- I don't know what with the Windows config. Have you tried booting into SAFE mode?

Safe mode boots up. PC enters a loop of restarting. I think it may be a bug in windows 8. shall i try u know formatting windows and installing win 7 ultimate? I dont want this DIMM to be something bought in vain, and i really need an FPS boost in games... However, that is a last resort

FYI: Updated BIOS to latest version, all drivers updated

***EDIT: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Bit worked perfectly.. booted up perfectly.. until i istalled the graphics drivers(intel hd). thats where it started randomly rebooting. I think its a firmware problem maybe? I have no idea. Safe mode boots up, and is usable.

**Sighhhhh**
