Hi, as the title says my new ram is not working without leaving the old RAM installed. I have tried installing it in all 4 slots and it doesn't work on its own. When i put the old RAM in (2-Power brand) the computer will start up and work normally.
My new ram is Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 32GB 2666mhz (2x16G) HX426C16FB3K2/32
The old ram is some brand called "2-Power" 2400mhz (2x8G)

Is there any way i can get just the new (Kingston) RAM working without the old ones?

My specs are:
MOBO: Asrock z170 pro4 (with newest bios)
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700k
GPU: rtx 3060 12gb
Currently i have 48gb ram (2x8 old +2x16 new)

If you had same errors on both old and new sticks then yes, but in this case it clearly has no use.
Hi, i just wanted to post an update about the whole ram problem. I bought a new motherboard (Msi z270 gaming pro) and now all ram sticks i mentioned work fine without any errors in memtest86. I guess the old motherboard is faulty but i don't know what exactly is wrong with it.

You state being on the latest BIOS, for the sake of relevance to this thread, can you please state the BIOS version you're on for your motherboard at this moment of time? Make and model of your PSU and it's age? Which slots have you tried populating the new stick of rams in? Given how the slots might've gathered dust/debris, I'd advise on using a fine bristle brush to gently clean the ram slots on the motherboard.

Thanks for reply. My bios version is P7.50 and PSU i use is Inter-tech SL700 plus (link to product page: https://www.inter-tech.de/3439/SL-700_PLUS_EN.html)
This psu is about 2 years old (from when i bought it) and is still working fine without any problems.
I have tried cleaning the ram with isopropyl alcohol and looked if there is any dust, but pc is still not booting with new ram.

I've tried both sticks of new ram in all 4 slots and it doesn't work on its own, only when the old ram is installed it works

yes i have tried that, even put the battery out to make sure it was reset, but it still won't work unless i put the old one back (with the new still being in)
I see no reason for your mobo to not work with new RAM unless the RAM was faulty. Speaking of which, have you tried using only one stick of new RAM at a time? Also, with all 4 sticks in, are you sure system is using 48 Gb - sometimes Windows can report amount wrong? Perhaps run Memtest to make sure all sticks work fine. Finally - is there actually any particular reason why you can't just run all 4 sticks if that works?

I have ran memtest for more than an hour with all 4 sticks and here are the results: https://ibb.co/GRtS9CY
memtest found 11 errors, should i keep it running until it finishes?

I tried using only one stick of the new ram before and it is the same as with both two
The reason i want only the new kingston ram in my pc is because i don't really trust that 2-Power branded ram
and i want the kingston ram to run at 2666mhz if that is possible

No, even a single error is too much. Looks like new RAM is faulty. To make sure, rerun the test with only old sticks.
With only the old ram i got no errors. I decided to clean the ram slots again and put all ram sticks back in. After the test with all 4 sticks finished i got 2 errors.

I also tested ram with windows memory diagnostic and there i got no errors even with all 4 sticks.

Is there a way reseating the cpu would help resolve any of the memory problems?
