new ram not working

I installed new memory stick in my Dell 2400 and the computer isn't recognizing them. The new memory is 1GB PC2700 DDR 333Mhz x 2. Can you help?

Is this a case of adding ram to what you already have ? Is the ram your adding the same exact speed, settings, cas and voltage that you have now.

What is the exact model for new memory?
