Question new ram not working

so i got new ram the other day and my computer will not boot up with it installed. i switched back to the old ram and my pc boots up just fine. the new ram should be compatible as i checked before purchasing. my motherboard is a gigabyte B450M gaming, my old ram is a corsair vengance DDR4 16GB (2x 8GB) 3200MHz and the new ram is corsair vengance DDR4 32GB (2x 16GB) 2666MHz. i tried booting it up with just one 16gb and nothing happend. im stuck with what to do. done everything ive seen suggested but noting works
