Hey!
So I bought 8Gb of Crucial Ballistix RAM, made sure it was compatible first, and installed it. Booted up, single beep, awesome, nice and fast compared to my Kingston Value 4Gb. So I started up Adobe Premiere to test render a video, and after about 5 seconds of the program being open it crashed. Same with Call of Duty Ghosts, Call of Duty 4, and Minecraft. But with the latter 3, I got a blue screen "System Service Exception" instead. I've ran memtest86+ for 6 or so passes on each stick in each slot. Everything is fine. My graphics drivers are up to date. My BIOS are up to date. Ram is running at recommended 1.5V in bios.

CPU- AMD Phenom II x4 965, has not been over clocked, running default

Mobo- Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 rev 3.1

Ram- Crucial Ballistix Sport BLS2CP4G3D1609 PC3 12800 Memory Module, 1.5V, 1600Mhz

For the 965 and 1600 sticks, first make sure you have the latest BIOS, then

1. Set DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1600

2. Set CPU-NB Frequency to 2400MHz (DDR3-1600 / 2 = 800MHz, then x 3) CPU-NB Frequency should always be 3X DRAM bus frequency

3. Set HT Link Frequency to 2400MHz

4. Set timings to tCL 9 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24, or whatever your memory is rated for.

5. Set DRAM Voltage to 1.50V, or whatever your memory is rated for.

6. Most CPUs will need a CPU-NB Voltage boost of +0.10V, so if your default is 1.10V, set it to 1.20V.

Okay, so I've jumped into the CMOS setup and I'm confronted with about 14 different options. We have:
1T/2T command timing - 2T
CAS latency- 9T
RAS to CAS R/W delay- 9T
Row Precharge Time- 9T
Minimum RAS Active time - 30T
TwTr command delay- 6T
Trfc0 for DIMM1, DIMM2 - 160ns
Trfc1 for DIMM3, DIMM4- 90ns
Write recovery time- 12T
Precharge time- 6T
Row cycle time- 37T
RAS to RAS delay- 5T
CKE power down mode- disabled
CKE power down control - per channel

Safe to say that I have no idea which ones to change! 🙁 My timings are stated as 9-9-9-24. I'm guessing that I have to change Minimum RAS active time from 30T to 24T?

Thanks for your help, tradesman1!
