I just bought some corsair vengeance 8x2 3600 ram and had no clue that the speeds would stay as low as my current ram gskill 8x2 2133. I want to play EFT at better fps and wanted some faster ram (and more ram) to hopefully fix stutters because of how ram hungry the game is, but would I be better off taking my old (gskill) ram out to run my new ram at 3600, keep both sets in running at 2133mhz or maybe try to overclock my gskill ram to faster speeds to better match my new ram?

Thanks for any help!

Solution
What's your old ram? Can they do more than 2133 with Xmp?

With only the 3600 ram installed in 2nd and 4th slot from cpu, go into Bios and enable A-Xmp 3600 profile.

Disable fast boot if this is on.
Ryzen's memory controller likes fast ram so 3600 16gb will be much faster compared to 32 at 2133. Populating all dimms will limit speeds to around 2666, that's if mixing works at all.
