H guys.

I am upgrading my current rig and this is what I had come up to so far:

Budget: appr. 1000 USD (bear in mind I do not live in USA, so hardware availability where I live are limited)

Hasswell 4770k CPU
ASUS Maximus VI Hero Mobo
16GB KIT DDR3 2400MHz CL11 HyperX Beast Series RAM
Cooler Master Seidon 120XL

On top of that, I already have:

Corsair TX950W PSU
2x Gigabyte GTX770-OC in 2way SLI
2x SSDs Samsung Pro 840 256 GB in RAID0
Thermaltake Armor+ Case

Greatly appreciated if you could tell me if the above CPU, Mobo, Cooler and RAM would fit in the rest of my rig.

I will use the machine mainly for gaming and some light video editing and multitasking.

And yes, i want to overclock, at least to 4.5ghz.

Thanks in advance.

I would step down from a Core i7 to a Core i5, due to the fact that the Core i7 is for editors an there is no difference between either in gaming applications. I would go for the Core i5-4670K. Pretty much the darling of the PC gaming market. Overclocks like a madman and uses a low amount of power at the same time.

I think that 16GB is maybe something too much for a gaming rig. If you really intend to use it for heavy video editing and more of those things...yeah, get 16GB but you're saying that it is just some light video editing. I believe that 8GB will do for playing games. Same as dottorrent: i7 is not really necessary in your case.
