New Rig Help

Hey All,

I'm looking at building a new and have decided on the following components:

Intel i5 4670k
Asus Maximus VI Hero Motherboard
Unsure what cooler to go for? maybe that be quiet one?
8GB(2X4GB) Corsair DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance Pro Red
3GB Asus GTX 780 DirectCU II Graphics Card
250GB Samsung EVO SSD
Corsair RM750w PSU
Corsair Carbide 300R Case

So basically that's my spec at the moment, anything i should change? for example is the graphics card the best for the money?(around £400)

Also i have around £100 spare to spend what would you recommend i spend it on?

If air cooling - Noctua NH-D14.

with that 100$ i think you should spend it on a storage drive maybe, assuming you want to spend it. For the cooler you can go with a noctua cooler or maybe a corsair water cooler.

You think maybe another 250GB Samsung EVO in raid 0? for the added speed and extra storage. I have around 160$ extra to spend you see.

Also is that graphics card the best for the money or would you go with one of the new AMD cards?

I don't think you really need 2 SSD in RAID at all. You'll already a notice a difference in boot up and loading for stuff that's on that SSD. A storage drive might be slightly more beneficial because it would provide a larger space for you to store stuff. Of course, if you're fine with 250GB, then by all means. The 780 is fine.

I know it would increase the performance too much but it would add another 250GB to the same volume. Sometimes it's nice just to have everything on one volume

I've decided to go for the corsair h100i liquid cooling for better cools and sticking with the GTX 780
