New rig weak link?

This is the rig i want to build. What are my weakest links here?
what would you change if you were building this?
I want a computer that can tear up Battlefield 3 on high settings.
This would be paired up with a 25 inch monitor at 1920 by 1080 res.
The price is pretty high on this rig so I'd rather not get too much more expensive....but if you see something thats a hundred bucks more here or there that would be a big help let me know. thanks,

weakest link is probably that rosewill PSU. I didnt find a JonnyGuru analysis of it so better to pick one that passes his testing IMO.

shouldn't say a weak link... but you don't really need the hyperthreading capabilites of i7 2600k... i5 2500k is a better deal imo... you can save almost 100 bucks...

You have 3 weak links:
1. PSU. --I suggest this : CORSAIR Professional Series HX750
Why? 80 plus silver, Modular, 4x8 6 pins, one of the best PSU around, 1000watts does not say much, you want to pay attention to efficiency, quality components and amperage more than watts.

2.SSD-- I suggest this : OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G
Why? I assume your a gamer. Your not gonna cut it with just 60gb. For example, My OS and APPS are on a 50gb Vertex 2, and my games which are about 3, are on my 60gb Agility 2. Trust me, your gonna prefer gaming on the SSD, so you will need at the very least 100 gb, and cause its always healthy to leave breathing room. OCZ's forums are top notch, I have a Vertex 2 and an Agility 2, and they are brilliant. They have A very good utility for setting up SSD and also Secure Erase.

3. HDD-- I suggest : Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX
Why? Barracudas have a fail rate that is a bit too high for my comfort. And this WD 1tb drive is probably the fastest around and has new tech on the platters.

Phenom90 is very insightful when it comes to builds, all around good suggestions, and yea you don't really need the Hyperthreading unless you are maybe doing some seriouse encoding , decoding etc.

1 comment. someone playing on the BF3 Beta told me their i5 2500k was at about 70% load across all for 4 processors. And he was heavily OC'd.
that made me think the i7 2600k would help out.?! (i have a gadget that monitors the activity of the cpu cores and when i play bfbc2 (battlefield bad company 2) it seems more than 4 cores are working. Now maybe the game is only using 4 and the other cores (the hyper threaded ones or whatever) are being used here and there to run windows and what not in the background.

If this build is for gaming, forget that i7-2600k. Save yourself some money and get an i5-2500k then upgrade that 6950 to either a 6970 or GTX 570. Overall thats going to give you way better performance than a i7-2600k with a 6950.

PSU - Look into brands such as Corsair, XFX, OCZ, SeaSonic, Antec. Also 1000w is OVERKILL for what your building. 850w would be plenty to run CROSSFIRE 6970s with an i5-2500k + Overclocking.

per a bunch of great suggestions.....this is the new modified list

I think i'll stick with two 6950's in crossfire as the 6970's don't seem to gain enough for the cost difference.

Better looking build, however im still going to suggest looking into a z68 motherboard, Samsung SpinPoint F3 HDD, and see below about PSU.

850w is alot, even for Crossfire 6950's, 750w would be more than enough for 2x 6950's and i5-2500k with overclocking so you could save yourself some money here.

That Mushkin RAM you have up there is 1.65v, and you want 1.5v RAM as that what is all the board manufacturers recommend for these socket 1155 boards.
