I am planning on buying a desktop, is this good enough for gaming, I would like to play Planetside 2, BF3.. Etc..

can you pick any parts you want or is this the only option? i would strongly suggest trying to build it yourself. watch the video below and read the techreport article and i'm sure you would be able to put it together.

not sure how he is making money considering the parts come out to $600 after MIR not including windows 7 ultimate which is $180. the gigabyte motherboard is discontinued so i just picked the closest one.

also there is no reason to get a 3570k and then get a H61 motherboard. the H61 is a sandybridge motherboard and you cant overclock with it. so either get a i5-3470 for $180 or get a z77 motherboard so you can overclock the 3570k. but you will also need a cpu cooler if you are going to overclock.

It isnt a I5-3570K, Its the I5-3570

I can upgrade to the I7-3770 For 100$
Also I can upgrade to the MSI HD7870 2GB but again I am on a budget

But would that system run well? with games like Planetside 2, BF3..Etc..
I would rather not customize onine because of shipping charges and restrictions to Quebec which are HECTIC!
I would also like to run Flight Simulator X smoothly

yea sorry i though it said k. don't get the 3570 its only like $5-10 cheaper then the unlocked k version. either get a 3570k and a z77 board or get the 3470 for $180. its not worth the extra $130 for the i7 unless you will make use of the hyperthreading.

you are in canada so the prices might be a little different. i would strongly suggest taking a look at the video i linked and see if you would be comfortable putting the system together yourself.

Thats why the config above is only 695$, since overclock isnt need, a cheaper motherboard could be used

on battlefield 3 at 1920x1200 a 7770 doesnt get over 30 fps.

if you were willing to try building it yourself you cold do something like this. its got a better video card and $100 cheaper. if you didnt need windows you could spend that $100 and get a much better video card.

What company would you recommend for custom PC's in Canada,
I've checked out Cyberpower and Ibuypower so far, so which would be better? Ibuypower definitely has a more organized site in my opinion.


Do you think I should avoid AMD cpu's?

i don't know much about companies that build custom pc's other then you pay more. those other 2 sites you listed look more expensive. for $700 i don't think you are going to get more then a 7770. on montreal.kijiji.ca if you spend $850 you can get a 7870 but you still need a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
