I just upgraded to an RTX 4080, and I ran some benchmarks to make sure it is running at the advertised performance. And it turns out, it may not be. I need your opinions.
I collected two full passmark benchmarks. One with my monitor's native 1080p resolution, the other with NVidia DSR resolution scaled to 4K (simulating a 4K monitor). Here are the results, including system information.
1080p: https://www.passmark.com/baselines/V11/display.php?id=184162058316 (-23.1% than expected performance of an RTX 4080)
4K DSR: https://www.passmark.com/baselines/V11/display.php?id=184164653115 (-10.7% than expected performance of an RTX 4080)
This is the exact GPU model I bought: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/palit-rtx-4080-gamingpro.b10528
Additionally, I am using a 750W PSU.
This performance drop seems like a problem, and given the cost of the GPU, I am motivated to resolve it. Any thoughts about what might be wrong with my system?
Happy to provide more details.
Thank you.
