I'm looking to upgrade my platform to better support the RTX2060 that I received as a gift. I'd love to get your guy's opinion/suggestions on CPU (Intel), MOBO and RAM. Budget is around $500. I do like the i5-9600k or the i5-8600k CPUs, but not sure if my budget will allow it.

My current specs are below.

Processor: Intel i5 2500k, LGA 1155 @4.00GHz (OC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68-D3H-B3, LGA 1155 Intel, Z68 HDMI Sata 6gb/s USB 3.0
GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX 660
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8BG (4 x 2GB) DDR3
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer Series 620W – SLI Ready; Crossfire Ready, 80 Plus Bronze Certified
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
Monitor (2): Acer HDMI LED-Backlight LCD Monitor (60hz/1080p)
OS: Windows 10 64 bit
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912

Games: Overwatch, Black Ops 4, Fortnite, Destiny 2
Future games: Anthem, The Division 2

amadis sorry to hijack your thread with a question.

Where you able to get your RTX2060 to work with the Z68 gigabyte motherboard without issue?

I have a Z68AP-D3 with same processor as you. I recently had an RX580 installed that failed and they couldnt replace so I opted to try a 2060 but havent had luck getting it detected.
